Saturday, December 27th, 2008 Hope everyone had a great holiday! Candi won't be updating for two weeks and will return on the 12th of January. Why? Well, I'm going on a last minute trip to Wisconsin today. (I know right!) I'm going to experience snow and then I'm escaping to LA later in the week. I might be able to update a little bit, but I figured I'd play it safe and not promise anything unless I knew for sure when I would be able to for sure. I have some pictures up from my Halloween Hollywood weekend trip I took a few weeks ago. Otherwise, things have been pretty hectic lately. It's sweeps this month, and the news station were I work has been pretty busy. Fun times though. :) I'm going to try and make a new wallpaper soon and maybe put some artwork up on Ebay. Any requests? Saturday, October 11, 2008 It's that wonderful time of the year where people get dressed up as neat creatures and people. I LOVE Halloween. So, for this month's wallpaper Candi & Linda are dressed up as Dr.Horrible & Captain Hammer. If you have no idea who those characters are, for shame. They are all part of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog and I highly recommend you watch it while its still for free on the internet. Still not sure what I'm going to be for Halloween though. I went as "Sexy Generic Wizard School Student" last year. I wouldn't mind being "Sexy Dr. Horrible" by replacing the labcoat with a dress, but all the 'sexy nurse' or 'sexy scientist' outfits are well... at little too sexy. :P I'll probably reuse last year's anyway. Saturday, September 27, 2008 So, you've probably noticed a lot of Obama ads on the site lately. Calle over at Zap in Space said it best, so I'm just going to quote her blog: "You're prolly already seeing them on the site by now. Odds are, if you're in a key 'battleground' state, political ads have totally taken over your interspaces and you can't go anywhere on the tubes without seeing them. We're in no way being atop a soap box with these ads. I don't want any of you feeling railroaded or offended by them, but topical ads are kind of the backbone of the internet ad game, and politics is no exception. There aren't any McCain ads coming through our ad feeds, simply because the McCain campaign didn't purchase any on our site. Most of the ads are innocuous 'register to vote!' ads. I just don't want any bad feelings or angry emails from people who feel we're being biased. We're not. It's just business, what with the beloved 18-24 demographic we proudly boast. If anything, McCain's being biased against us by not buying ads here! McCain campaign, we want your money too! It is for the economies!" You guys should read her comic. It's pretty awesome. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 Ok, I got super tired of the previous site design already and spend my afternoon and evening redoing things. There are probably a few bugs here and there and I'm going to fix them as I find them. But hopefully the site looks a little cleaner, despite the ads all over the place. Speaking ads, I've placed two Project Wonderful ad boxes on the main (and archive) pages. The boxes labeled "Advertise Here" is open for anyone to bid on.
